Investigation into Houston Death

|

Patrol officers responded to a call from family members who had not heard from Ms. Johnson, of Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a woman found at 5414 Candlemist Drive, in more than 24 hours.

Ms. Johnson's nephew entered the home after there was no answer at the door and found his aunt, Mildred Johnson, 86, dead in the living room.  There was evidence of a previous struggle in the living room.

Her niece, Alexis Jones, 24, has been charged with theft in Harris County Criminal Court in connection with items missing from Ms. Johnson's residence. While investigators were at the residence, Jones and another male were detained near the residence.  The investigation is continuing.  The male does not face charges at this time.
