Hockey broadcaster Ron MacLean helped save a man from drowning in the Delaware River last month.
The incident started when a woman raced into a hotel restaurant where MacLean was having lunch, shouting for help, Explaining frantically to the broadcaster that a person was drowning, MacLean leaped from his seat, took a velvet rope that separated diners in the restaurant, and ran down to the water.
Somebody else was already in the water helping the man out.
Reportedly, the drowning man had his throat wrapped in tape, and people from around Penn's Landing area weren't certain if that meant he was trying to kill himself - or someone was trying to kill hi,m or if it was just an accident. MacLean reportedly has been trying to downplay the role he played.
No matter how it played out, what led to the incident needs investigation. The family of the victim will certainly seek answers.
