The driver of a black, four-door Dodge traveling north on Briarpark Drive at a high rate of speed crossed the southbound lanes of traffic and struck a business and two victims were left dead in March.
The victims, a male and female inside the vehicle, were pronounced dead at the scene. The male driver, 26, and two other male passengers in the vehicle were transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital.
The investigation is continuing, but charges have been filed against the driver. The charged suspect, Yoan Batista-Martinez, 26, was charged with manslaughter in the 178th State District Court. The identities of the two deceased victims, a male, 38, and a female, 24, are pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office.
The families of the two victims will be grieving their loss, but there is possibility for restitution. Houston personal injury attorneys at The Doan Law Firm, P.C. have extensive experience in personal injury litigation and can help families troubled with the loss of a family member.
