Reports say that Ramirez, driving a silver Isuzu Rodeo, was traveling northbound on Federal Road when he struck two female pedestrians attempting to cross the street. Ramirez remained on the scene and was taken into custody.

Two female victims were both transported to Ben Taub General Hospital. One female, 35, was pronounced dead at the hospital. Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office.
