Ironworker’s Family Sues For Wrongful Death

An ironworker's family filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the company they say contributed to their ironworker son's death last month.

While working on a construction project at a water reclamation plant, Jose Meza, an ironworker employed by Industrial Fence, Inc., when his body harness reportedly snagged on a piece of heavy equipment and he was crushed by the machinery.

Meza's family reportedly sued the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, New Holland North America Inc.- the manufacturer of the skid steer loader machinery that reportedly caused Meza's death, and F.H. Paschen, S.N. Nielson/IHC Construction. Although details of the allegations were mostly withheld, the Meza family is reportedly seeking an excess of $50,000 in compensatory damages.
