Austin patrol officers responded to an auto-pedestrian crash in the 5300 block of North IH 35 Southbound On Friday, January 29, 2010, at approximately 9:43 p.m.
Reports say that while a pedestrian was crossing the highway eastbound, he was struck by a dark colored extended cab pickup truck that fled the scene without stopping. The victim was then struck by at least five other vehicles, and was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured.
The pickup truck possibly has damage on the right side, and anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call APD Vehicular Homicide Unit Detectives at (512) 974-8164. This case remains under investigation.
