Austin Police Officers responded to a crash in the 10800 block of Metric Blvd late last month involving a motorcycle that was traveling south bound on Metric Boulevard.
The crash occurred when a Capital Metro bus came to a stop in the right lane and other vehicles stopped behind it. The motorcycle struck the back of a stopped flatbed truck. The driver of the motorcycle, who was wearing a helmet, was transported to University Medical Center-Brackenridge with critical injuries by Austin-Travis County EMS. He was later pronounced deceased.
Reports say that it is unknown if speed or alcohol were factors at this time. No one else was injured. The case remains under investigation.
