Janice Bauer, a Spokane County Jail guard, was injured when an elevator suddenly dropped and then came to a violent and abrupt stop.
Reports say Bauer was thrown to the floor last month as she took the elevator from the jail annex to the first floor in the Tacoma prison facility. The elevator reportedly became stuck after the abrupt drop and fellow deputies had to pry the doors open to rescue her. She was treated at a hospital, but the extent of her injuries was unknown.
