North Texas Man Dies Following Taser Incident

|

A robbery suspect died at a Dallas hospital earlier this month after resisting arrest and then being stunned by a Taser device, reports say.

Freddie Lockett, 30, died after being shocked after an altercation with a man in a parked car whom he evidently attempted to rob, reports say. The robbery victim told officers he had been attacked by Lockett, but escaped through the passenger-side door and ran to a convenience store to call for help. While he was in the store, Police arrived, saw the man matching the description of the Lockett and, and when they tried to talk to him, he ran away.

After being Tasered, Lockett was transported to Methodist Central Hospital where he later died at about 1:05 a.m. Sunday morning. An investigation continues into the death.
