Car Chase Ends With Border Patrol Drowning Rescue

|
After leading Starr County authorities on a wild chase, a suspected smuggler jumped out of his car and into the river in an evident attempt to escape into Mexico. But he was exhausted and went underwater.

When he started calling for help, and Border Patrol agent jumped into the water to rescue him, where he was plucked from the river's dangerous currents by a Border Patrol agent and a police officer.

The suspect is now reportedly in custody and will likely face drug smuggling charges. Authorities found 400 pounds of marijuana in the car.
