35-year-old Marlowe Young apparently tried to swim to shore from a pontoon boat he and three friends had rented from a nearby marina recently when he drowned. He was not wearing a life jacket. Young was the fourth person to drown in the lake this summer, reports say.
Reports say his friends tried unsuccessfully to rescue but he dropped below the surface of the water. Divers found Young's body the next day a short distance from where he was last seen.
Reports also say the rash of drownings this summer is troubling and that there is a general concern about more drownings before the end of the season.
