Fatal Traffic Accident at 9400 Westheimer

Houston police were continuing their investigation of a fatal traffic accident that occurred in the 9400 block of Westheimer early laps month.

The incident occurred when the male driver of a Ford Explorer driving westbound on Westheimer and approaching Westerland suddenly crossed the center median. The Ford then struck a maroon Plymouth Voyager, driven by Yolanda Lopez Martinez, 54, of Houston, head on.

The male was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital in stable condition with broken bones. According to a witness, the male appeared to have suffered a seizure that led to the crash, and alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this incident. Ms. Martinez was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital, where she later died.
