An Arizona man has died after being exposed to the deadly E. coli bacteria strain that has caused so much panic in Germany.
Federal officials have reportedly confirmed that the death was as a direct result of contact to the same E. coli strain. Reports say that a half-dozen deaths have been connected to this E. coli strain, but this death of the Arizona man appears to be a direct link to the same deadly E. coli strain in Europe.
The Arizona man had reportedly just recently visited Germany, and has become the first known fatality linked to the outbreak that has killed at least 50 Europeans. The man, whose name was not released, was over 65 years of age.
The German E. coli outbreak sickened thousands, with more than 700 becoming significantly ill with kidney problems. The started the second week in May.
During this outbreak, the families of the dead and the ill will likely have questions. In a tragedy like this one, survivors' questions need to be addressed by experts.
