The case of an armed robbery suspect who was shot and killed at 809 Thornton about 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 2nd will be referred to a Harris County grand jury, reports say.
The male suspect, whose identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office, suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. Three other suspects, described only as Hispanic males, remain at large.
The incident began as four unknown - but armed -- suspects confronted a homeowner in the driveway of his residence at 809 Thornton and demanded money. A friend of the homeowner witnessed the robbery in progress and retrieved a weapon, fatally shooting one of the suspects.
Gunfire was exchanged before the remaining three suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction. There was no indication whether any of the remaining three suspects was struck by gunfire.
