Earlier this month Lubbock ISD official swere forced to notify parents of Irons Middle School students regarding an afternoon firearms incident near school grounds, reports say.
In an audio phone message left for parents, Middle School Principal Ken Carasez informed parents there had been an accidental discharge of a firearm, which injured one adult.
The adult, an auto passenger who was possibly picking up a student, was wounded in a vehicle and treated by paramedics near the school. No others were injured during the incident and LPD was continuing their investigation, reports say.
