Reports say that passengers on the cruise ship Norwegian Jade, a part of the Norwegian Cruise Lines fleet, became ill on a sailing early this year. Passengers reported several shipmates were sickened and the liner was evidently concerned enough to change all buffet areas from self-serve to cafeteria-style. The system reportedly remained in place for the entire cruise.
Passengers also reportedly noticed new NCL sanitizing systems, including hand sanitizers in elevators and antibacterial hand spray at the entrance to each restaurant. Brochures about trips, which might normally be available for passenger reading, were reportedly eliminated.
The cruise ended in Barcelona, at which time continuing passengers were reportedly obliged to disembark for several hours while entire ship was being sanitized.
