Man Drowns in Sequoia National Park

A man died recently while swimming in the Kaweah River in Sequoia National Park recently, reports say.

The man, a 45-year-old unidentified man from the Los Angeles area, was riding the river on an inner tube-type floatation device near Buckeye Flat Campground when he went missing.

The Park Service initiated a search and the man was found about five miles downstream, unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene. This drowning incident is under investigation.
