An Illinois court recently found a Romeoville man not guilty by reason of insanity in the drowning death of his 18-month-old son, reports say.
Chidi Esi, 29-year-old, was convicted recently of drowning his son in a bathtub, but the court determined that Esi's mental state prevented him from being conscious of his own actions.
The drowned boy, who died on Oct. 9, 2009, was apparently fed an antipsychotic medicine and then -- while unable to remain lucid -- drowned in a bathtub.
Reports say the Illinois Department of Human Services will be evaluating Esi and give the report to the presiding judge this summer who will rule on what mental health treatment he will receive.
