Lyons, who remains in custody with bond set at $500,000, reported that a two-month-old infant had been injured at the Little Lyons Club Daycare. Lyons apparently said she put the baby on a sofa and went to use the restroom. When she returned, she found the infant on the hardwood floor, face up, with swelling on the back his head. She told investigators the child fell from the sofa, according to court documents, reports say.
The child was transported to Dell Children's Hospital, but he died on Nov. 25 after being treated for severe head trauma. Doctors told investigators that due to the severity of the child's injuries, they were not likely accidental.
