The family of Brian Greenhouse, the man who fell from a Houston Livestock and Rodeo roller coaster last week, is searching for answers as the investigation into his death continues, reports say.
Reports say that witnesses state the victim was "limp in the air" as he fell the 30 feet to his death Sunday at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. But so far, Houston police can't rule out the ride itself, reports say.
Attorneys for the Greenhouse family say the 47-year-old died through possible operational and mechanical error which left him unrestrained on the ride. And later in the week a wrongful death lawsuit was filed in Harris County against the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and Ray Cammack Shows, reported as the ride operator. The suit claims negligence on the part of the rodeo and the midway operator.
The roller coaster ion question was last inspected in October, reports say. Reports also say that a similar incident occurred in March, 2009 Hi-Miler at the Houston rodeo when a woman and her daughter complained that the restraint had come loose.
Houston investigators are waiting for the results of autopsy and toxicology to aid in the investigation.
