A missing Beaumont man who had a history of seizures was found dead early last month on Galveston Island's west end after disappearing in the water on a Friday night.
The man, David Kennedy, 40, was reported missing from Terramar Beach just after 8 p.m., while swimming with family, reports say. Apparently, while he was surfing, he became distressed and went missing. When he couldn't be found, his nephews called emergency.
The Galveston Beach Patrol, Galveston Fire Department, Galveston Police Department Marine Division, and the Jamaica Beach Fire Rescue all assisted in the search. And even after they spent more than an hour searching late Friday they were unable to find the man. It was only the next day as a woman walking on the beach Saturday morning found the lifeless body on the shore and called police. He had washed up near where he was last seen, reports say.
