Late last month Austin Police Officers responded to an injury crash in the 9100 block FM 969 Road in Austin to find that a car had collided with a motorcycle and fled the scene.
The preliminary investigation shows that a 1994 Honda motorcycle was in the right lane as a tan Buick was in the left lane traveling eastbound on FM 969. In the 9100 block of FM 969, the tan Buick drifted into the motorcycle’s lane. The vehicles collided.
The Honda motorcycle then crashed into the guardrail along the south curb line and the motorcycle rider was thrown clear. The driver of the Buick continued failed to stop and render assistance.
The driver of the motorcycle, Fredrick Dixon, 38, was transported to University Medical Center at Brackenridge where he was pronounced deceased.
Dixon was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, and alcohol is not suspected at this time. The police are asking for the public’s assistance in the search for the driver of the Buick. Anyone with information about the whereabouts of this driver is asked to call 9-1-1, or APD Vehicular
