An accident that occurred mid-March have stymied Houston police, who are asking for the public's assistance in locating a motorist involved the fatal hit-and-run traffic accident at 6900 Gulf Freeway, also known as South Interstate Highway 45, about 12:25 a.m. on March 14th.
Evidently, the victim attempted to cross the Gulf Freeway on his bicycle when he struck the passenger side of a white Dodge 3500 pickup truck. After being knocked off his bicycle, the victim was then struck by a white Ford Explorer. The driver of the Dodge was not injured in this incident.
A witness who was following and saw the accident followed the Explorer until the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. The driver of the Explorer is described only as a Hispanic male, 25 years of age. Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Hit and Run Unit at 713-247-4065.
