A late afternoon Texas natural gas pipeline explosion near Farmersville in Collin County has resulted in two deaths and several injuries. The blast occurred at an Atmos Energy facility located about 35 miles northeast of Dallas.

Various emergency responders and other agencies were called to the scene of the Atmos Energy pipeline explosion on Monday during the later afternoon and early evening. These include The Princeton Fire Department, the Farmersville Fire Department, Collin County Emergency Medical Service, and various law enforcement agencies from the Collin County are.

The deceased and injured workers are employees of two contractors, Bobcat Contracting and Fesco Petroleum Engineering. Two of the injured workers were taken to an area hospital.

The names of the killed and injured workers have not yet been released to the media or public pending notification of family members. The current condition of the hospitalized workers has not yet been made available to the public either. The hospitalized individuals are expected to fully recover.
